Where there, among others, the Minister of Production, Fernanda González; the Undersecretary of Technical-Professional Education, Daiana Schapert Berpof; the director of the CERET, Juan Manuel Bello; the director of the La Pampa-San Luis Regional Center of INTA, Jorge Reynals; and the director of Economic and Productive Development of the General Pico municipality, Yolanda Carrizo.
González recognized the work of all those who carry out horticultural production at CERET. She also highlighted the participation of different agencies of the provincial government as part of this project, such as the Ministries of Production, Education, the municipality of General Pico, INTA, “to accompany the private sector throughout the process of horticultural production, from starting the idea, testing the seeds, obtaining the seedlings, to obtain the final product.”
Also highlighted the hydroponics module that will be put into operation soon, “with funds from the former Ministry of Science and Technology and Innovation and the provincial government for its implementation”. González told to the **Provincial News Agency** the importance of having such a space “not only for horticultural producers, but also for students, teachers, professionals.” She pointed out that throughout the year CERET had the visit of more than 60 schools of different educational levels. Finally, she wished those present to “take advantage of what this place has to give.”
Bello as well, said that the meeting “it’s part of the annual calendar of the organization and its purpose is to consolidate a meeting space for those who make up the horticultural field.” He stressed that this type of activities “allow the exchange of experiences, learn about technological advances and strengthen the articulation between the different actors.” He added that provincial horticulture is going through a process of expansion that requires technical support, applied research and dissemination of productive innovations. And explained that “one of the central goals of CERET is to contribute to the development of the sector through extension, with training and the incorporation of new tools.”
Meanwhile, the director of the La Pampa-San Luis Regional Center of INTA highlighted all the inter-institutional work that is carried out throughout the year with different organizations. History #
The project for the implementation of a hydroponics production module at CERET, arises in 2022, as a result of the demand from producers from different parts of La Pampa interested in venturing into the activity and with the needs to have local research and information that serves as a strategic input to innovate in this cultivation system.
It should be remembered that hydroponics is a growing production method in the field of horticulture that allows the cultivation of plants without soil, replacing it with an aqueous solution with essential minerals.
Taking into account the mission of CERET, which is the applied research, from the agency and in conjunction with INTA, a project was presented to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MINCyT), through the Undersecretary of Federalization of Science, Technology and Innovation of the national government, to access to funding for the start-up of a high-tech greenhouse with automated ventilation, evaporative panels, temperature control, power generator and reverse osmosis equipment.
The project was developed by the engineers Alberto Muguiro, Carlos Pechín and Andrés Corro Molas, and the proposal was approved in October 2022 with the allocation of 10 million pesos to develop an intensive hydroponics module.
In addition to these resources, contributions of the Ministries of Production and Education of the Government of La Pampa were added, which made it possible to finalize the details for the implementation of this initiative in 2025.
