Digging on curiosity and science.

With an outstanding institutional and technical participation, the technical conference on spraying phytosanitary products with a multirotor drone was held in the city of Santa Rosa, an activity aimed at professional technical advisors within the framework of Provincial Law No. 3288 on Comprehensive Pesticide Management.

The meeting took place at the Faculty of Agronomy of the National University of La Pampa, and was organized by the Ministry of Production of La Pampa, and had the participation of the Faculty of Agronomy, the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA), CASAFE and the College of Agricultural Engineers of La Pampa.

The institutional opening was led by the director of Agriculture of the Ministry of Production, Natalia Ovando, accompanied by the deputy director of the area, Sergio Baudracco. Academic authorities also participated, including the dean of the Faculty of Agronomy, Lía Molas, and representatives of the professional field, such as the vice president of the College of Agricultural Engineers, Juliana Núñez.

During the day, key technical aspects linked to the use of drones as an application tool were addressed, such as the characteristics of the CDA spray system, the equipment calibration criteria, the parameters that influence the application and the conditions of the spray mixture for low rates, with special emphasis on its suitability for use in drones. The dissertation was given by specialist José Sosa, who provided a practical and updated approach to the topic.

In her speech, Ovando highlighted that the incorporation of drones into application systems “poses technical and regulatory challenges that we must address responsibly. From the State we promote training instances that allow safe, efficient use framed in current law.” In addition, she stressed that “our objective is to accompany technological innovation with training, consensus and control, guaranteeing good agricultural practices and care for health and the environment.”

From the Ministry of Production, was especially valued the participation of the different actors of the productive, academic and professional system, reaffirming the need for an inter-institutional approach to address the comprehensive management of pesticides and the incorporation of new tools such as drones in agricultural production in La Pampa.
