La Pampa joins the fire emergency project in Patagonian provinces

The Government of the Province of La Pampa expressed its adherence and full support to the project presented by the governor of the province of Chubut, Ignacio Torres, together with other leaders and officials of Patagonian provinces, which proposes declaring the igneous emergency and disaster zone in the provinces of Chubut, Río Negro, Neuquén and La Pampa, within the framework of National Law No. 27,287.

The initiative was analyzed today during a virtual meeting in which La Pampa was represented by the Minister of Security and Justice, Horacio di Nápoli, in which the seriousness of the forest and rural fires that affect vast regions of the country was recognized and the need for a comprehensive response was raised coordinated and urgent action of the national State, in coordination with the provincial and municipal governments, to mitigate the environmental, social and productive damages caused by the fire.

The need of guarantee resources and planning

La Pampa made clear the importance of joint work between provinces, beyond political affiliations, and underlined the need to have a national State that, coordinated with the provincial states, guarantees resources, planning and effective responses to increasingly frequent climate and environmental emergencies.

Support of PJ national legislators
#

The Government of La Pampa values and supports the adhesion and support of the national legislators of the Justicialista Party, both deputies and senators, who have expressed their support for this initiative in the National Congress, reaffirming the commitment to the defense of the affected provinces and to a federal risk management policy.

La Pampa reiterates its commitment to the protection of the environment, the safety of its inhabitants and the reconstruction of the affected areas, and reaffirms the importance of strengthening public policies for the prevention and response to forest fires throughout the country.

The Project

The project declares the igneous emergency in the terms provided by current legislation and establishes the declaration of a disaster zone for the affected territories, thus enabling the use of exceptional tools for risk management, civil protection and assistance to affected communities.

Likewise, it authorizes the Federal Emergency Agency - or the agency that replaces it in the future - to have the necessary budgetary resources for the prevention and combat of forest and rural fires; the attention, mitigation and restoration of the damages suffered by affected individuals, families and property; the support and assistance to the provinces and municipalities affected by the emergency and the execution of all the actions provided for in the National System for Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection.
