A case of non-native Influenza A is confirmed in La Pampa

The Ministry of Health of La Pampa assured that it is a person who brought the virus from Spain and presented a mild case. The detection was carried out by the provincial laboratories and confirmed by ANLIS Malbrán, a national reference organization.

The case of Influenza A virus occurred in a 28-year-old man who arrived from Barcelona, Spain, who experienced a mild illness without complications. Currently, there are no changes in the usual severity of this disease nor situations that generate health alerts. The provincial Ministry of Health took all necessary precautions and the relevant prophylaxis measures in the affected person’s environment informed de APN.

Influenza A is one of the viruses that circulate each year and cause seasonal flu. Its detection is part of the usual controls carried out in the province for the monitoring of respiratory infections, the authorities said.

Besides, given this scenario, the community is reminded of the importance of maintaining the usual care and prevention measures, such as frequent hand washing, ventilation of environments, and responsible use of the health system.
