In the town of Alpachiri, at the facilities of the Association of Descendants of Volga Germans, the official launch of the Tourist and Cultural Route “Descendants of Volga Germans in the Southeast Pampas” was held, a proposal that adds to the provincial tourist offer and values the history, traditions and identity of these communities.

The event was attended by the mayor of Alpachiri, Iván Fuhr; the provincial deputy Hernán Pérez Araujo; the Secretary of Tourism of La Pampa, Saúl Echeveste; the Undersecretary of Tourism Planning, Noelia Albornoz; members of the Association of Descendants of Volga Germans; the mayors and presidents of the Development Commissions of the localities that make up the route: Alpachiri, Colonia Santa Teresa, Colonia Santa María, Perú, Guatraché and Jacinto Arauz; as well as tourism leaders and representatives of CEDETUR (Center for Studies for the Strategic Development of Tourism).

During the day, the Binational Route of Volga Germans was presented, framing this regional initiative that strengthens historical and cultural ties between communities, and the signing of the agreement was finalized, along with the delivery of the Resolution and maps to the Municipalities and Development Commissions, reaffirming the commitment to work together in its development and promotion.

Rubén Müller member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Descendants of Volga Germans, thanked the presence of the authorities and highlighted the symbolic value of the moment. He pointed out that the institution is about to celebrate its 50th anniversary and recalled that it will also celebrate 150 years of the arrival of the Volga Germans to Argentina, underlining the pride for the road traveled and the achievements achieved. He also evoked historical meetings held in Alpachiri and highlighted the importance of this tourist and cultural route, which has a strong accompaniment of the community.

The Secretary of Tourism of La Pampa, Saúl Echeveste, said that with the launch of the Route of the Descendants of Volga Germans, a very important step was taken for the south of La Pampa. He pointed out that the initiative not only presents a new tourism proposal, but also recognizes a history of work, effort and identity that is part of who we are as a province. He stressed that these localities preserve traditions, flavors and customs transmitted from generation to generation, which today are valued so that they are known, lived and generate opportunities for the peoples. Finally, he remarked that it is a tool to strengthen tourism, boost the economy and reaffirm that the interior of the Pampas has a lot to show, celebrating this shared path that unites past, present and future. “From La Pampa we believe in our towns, in its people, in its history and we celebrate this shared path, which unites past, present and future,” Echeveste concluded.
