The Provincial Commission for the Prevention and Eradication of Child Labor (COPRETI), next Monday 15 will carry out an activity that aims to reach all the towns of the north with a strong message. “We seek to stop naturalizing the issue and encourage people to report it,” said the Undersecretary of Labor Relations, Ana Rodríguez.

As part of its intensive inter-institutional plan of action to combat child labour -informed Agencia Provincial de Noticias-, COPRETI is organizing a day of awareness-raising and debate at the MEDANO Multispace in General Pico, at which the technical teams dealing with the matter are convened.

“The idea is to continue working on what we have been doing all year to generate prevention on the subject and provide information not only for people who work in the area of children but also for society in general,’ told the Undersecretary Ana Rodríguez.

The conference is open to the participation of those who are interested in learning more about this important issue for the well-being of children and adolescents.

Rodríguez said that one of the objectives they had set at the beginning of the year was to hold workshops in different locations in the interior of La Pampa. That is why this activity was thought of in General Pico, which aims to convene the teams and interested parties of the northern region. “This will continue to be replicated in other parts of the Province.”

As for the theme of the day, the undersecretary anticipated that it will be similar to the one that was held in the middle of the year in the Hall of Agreements of the Government House. “We raise questions, show awareness-raising videos and use triggers with the idea of generating a debate and talking deeply about the issue,” she said.

Regarding the balance of what was done in 2025, Rodríguez was satisfied: “We were able to meet four times in the year, which is what was scheduled and we finished updating a protocol that now has to be raised so that a decree can be signed modifying the previous one.”

Stressed that “it was possible to sit down at the table with the Judicial Branch to work articulately with the same criteria, and a unified message was also agreed with Tourism regarding the Mennonite Colony.” The official emphasized that “a lot of prevention was done with conferences, talks and debates and cases were addressed together with the new protocol.”
