The second edition of the Salinas Trail was held today, a 12.5 km race held in the Salina Colorada Grande, approximately 42 km from the town of General San Martín, La Pampa. The test summoned 120 runners and combined sporting demand with the characteristic salt landscape of the area.
The start took place at 9:00 a.m. and the circuit took the participants through sectors of salt and rock, offering panoramic views uncommon in the province of La Pampa.
The organization was in charge of Marathon Eventos, Tourism and Energy and Mining of La Pampa’s government, and the Municipality of General San Martín.
In addition to the competitive component, the day attracted companions and families who took the opportunity to get to know the salt flat, take photographs and participate in recreational activities around the event. The presence of 120 runners exceeded the initial expectations of the organization and the possibility of expanding distances and quotas in future editions was raised.
With this edition, General San Martín reinforces its profile in adventure tourism in La Pampa, adding to the local offer an event that articulates sports, nature and promotion of the productive resources of the region.
