It will take place on Friday, October 24, at the main headquarters of UNLPam (Cnel. Gil 353, 3rd floor – Superior Council Hall, Santa Rosa), and will bring together authorities, specialists, teachers, researchers, students, and representatives from the private sector and civil society.
“Climate change is no longer a future problem, but a reality that impacts our ecosystems, economies, and ways of life. In La Pampa, we are working to build responses from local knowledge and with a collective vision,” said Vanina Basso, Secretary of Environment and Climate Change, who will lead the opening along with authorities from UNLPam.
The first part of the day will present two key experiences that set the course for provincial and national climate policy: the Provincial Climate Change Response Plan, led by Florencia Ricard, Undersecretary of Climate Change; and the National Climate Action Observatory (ONAC), presented by Mariano Villares, founder of the organization Sustainability Without Borders.
Then, the participants will be able to choose between two work routes designed to promote coordination between sectors:
-
Route 1: Climate Action and the Private Sector — Participatory space for the co-creation of the Provincial Climate Action Seal for Pampean Companies, a tool aimed at recognizing and strengthening the environmental commitment of the local productive sector.
-
Route 2: Knowledge and Tools for Climate Action — aimed at students, teachers, and the general public, with workshops on adaptation and mapping climate change risk, as well as legal and regulatory aspects of climate action.
The day will conclude with a Round Table on Local Actions for and with the Climate, in which teachers and researchers from the Faculty of Agronomy will share experiences on sustainable production, soil management, integration with native forests, adapted crops, and new technologies applied to agriculture and microbiology.
Activity is open and free.
