The Sub-14 Pampean Sports Games concluded yesterday in Santa Rosa, with the participation of about 600 athletes, and organized by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Rights of La Pampa.

As usual in these competitions, the towns of La Pampa were divided into 10 zones:

  • Zone 1: Rancul, Realicó, Parera, Quetrequén, Ingeniero Luiggi, Embajador Martini, and Maisonnave.

  • Zone 2: Intendente Alvear, Alta Italia, Larroudé, Hilario Lagos, Vértiz, Speluzzi, Van Praet, Ceballos, Sarah, Ojeda, Falucho.

  • Zone 3: Eduardo Castex, Trenel, Arata, Caleufú, Metileo, La Maruja, Pichi Huinca, Conhelo, Monte Nievas.

  • Zone 4: Quemú Quemú, Villa Mirasol, Colonia Barón, Miguel Cané, Catriló, Lonquimay, Uriburu, Anguil, Dorila, Agustoni, Relmo.

  • Zone 5: General Pico.

  • Zone 6: Victorica, Luan Toro, Carro Quemado, Telén, Loventué, Rucanelo, Mauricio Mayer, Winifreda.

  • Zona 7: Santa Rosa.

  • Zona 8: Jacinto Arauz, Bernasconi, La Adela, Guatraché, Santa Teresa, San Martín, Abramo, General Campos y Cuchillo Có.

  • Zone 9: General Acha, Toay, Perú, Quehué, Unanue, Ataliva Roca, Miguel Riglos, Macachín, Alpachiri, Rolón, Doblas, Santa María, Anchorena.

  • Zone 10: Santa Isabel, La Humada, Algarrobo del Aguila, Puelén, 25 de Mayo, Duval, Chacharramendi, La Reforma, Puelches, Limay Mahuida, Casa de Piedra.

The champions began to emerge on Wednesday. Athletics was the first sport to finish its activity on the synthetic track at Don Tomás Park with these results: in women’s athletics, Zone IX was crowned champion, accumulating a total of 146 points, followed by Zone VII, which finished with 93, and Zone I, with 90. Then came Zone II with 60, Zone IV with 37, Zone VI with 31, Zone V with 25, Zone III with 10, and Zone VIII with 6. In men’s athletics, the overall victory went to Zone I, which scored 110 points. The podium was completed by Zone IX with 101 and Zone VII with 99. Fourth place went to Zone II with 65, fifth was Zone V with 46, sixth was Zone IV with 30, seventh was Zone VIII with 19, and eighth was Zone X with 8.

The women’s volleyball, which took place at the SUM Plan 5000 court, Pico FBC (representing zone V), coached by Laura Barberis, was crowned champion after defeating Campos de General Acha (Zone IX) by 2 to 0.

Acha, who had been showing excellent play, encountered a superb Pico, who took advantage of the unforced errors of the opponent to secure the victory.

Meanwhile, School 221 (Zone VII) came in third by defeating Uriburu (IV), which finished fourth. Fifth was Ambassador Martini (I), sixth Arata (III), seventh Intendente Alvear (II), eighth Chacharramendi (X), ninth Jacinto Arauz (VIII), and tenth Telén (VI).

The men’s volleyball was played at the Butaló Sports Center. In the final, the team from Campos de General Acha was crowned champion by defeating Escuela 221 from Santa Rosa (Zone VII) 2 to 0. The municipal team from Bernasconi (VIII) placed third, having defeated Independiente from General Pico (V), which came in fourth.

On the field of Club Estudiantes, the All Boys team from Santa Rosa (representing Zone VII) won the Games by defeating Independiente from General Pico (Zone V) in the final by 41 to 37, in a dramatic match. The third place went to Ceriva from General Acha (IX) after defeating Vértiz (II) by 36 to 9.

In men’s football, which matches took place on the fields of Club Mac Allister, Toay (Zone IX) won the final against Caleufú (Zone III). Victorica (Zone VI) came in third. In women’s football, Telén (VI) took the first place by defeating Ingeniero Luiggi (Zone I). Guatraché (VIII) came in third position.
