The initiative, promoted by the Provincial Executive Power, was supported by a majority in the Chamber of Deputies and represents a key step to guarantee the continuity of hydrocarbon production in the Province, stated de APN.
From the Energy and Mining, its head Matías Toso said that “this approval is the result of a transparent, technical and participatory process. Medanito represents 34% of Pampas’ oil production and supports more than 350 direct and indirect jobs. It was essential to move forward in time to avoid a drop in activity before the expiration of the current contract in June 2026”.
“We will execute what the deputies defined as a mobile royalty system, whether it is 15% or 20%. The important thing is that the Province maintains strategic control over its resources,” Toso added.
“Today we take a firm step towards the energy transition of La Pampa,” Toso concluded.
