During the course of this year, the Production Ministry, through the Pilot Farm, delivered laying hens in various locations to institutions or families, in order to accompany each of them in their poultry enterprise or for self-consumption.
So far, according to what was reported by the Livestock Directorate, the beneficiary localities with layers were: Lonquimay, Jacinto Arauz, Villa Mirasol, Dorila, Agustoni, Colonia Barón, Quemú Quemú, Falucho, Ingeniero Luiggi, Carro Quemado and Rolón. While the benefited institutions were the Agrotechnical School of General Acha and the Agrotechnical School of Colonia 25 de Mayo.
In each opportunity in which the delivery of laying hens is carried out, a technical training instance is previously provided aimed at the beneficiary family producers.
“In this way, the delivery of birds is accompanied by the transfer of knowledge and necessary tools, to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of the production system,” said Valentín Busiello, in charge of the Pilot Farm, to the Provincial News Agency
The talks refer to “the biosecurity of the farm, breeding management, rearing and production of layers”, Busiello said.
The Farm based in Catriló is dedicated to the breeding of poultry in order to assist family production, small and medium-sized poultry producers, through the delivery of laying pullets, for productive purposes to obtain eggs and meat.
