The La Pampa Police celebrated its 139th anniversary last Saturday in the hall of the Circle of Non-Commissioned Officers and Agents, in a ceremony that brought together provincial authorities, members of the police high command, representatives of the three branches of government, and personnel family members.

The central event was led by the Minister of Security and Justice, Horacio di Nápoli, and the Chief of La Pampa Police, Claudio Cano. The ceremony, broadcast live by Pampean Public Television, served as a space to highlight the vocation, effort, and commitment of the Pampean police officers, who daily fulfill an essential role in public and citizen security. Additionally, referred the history of the institution, the progress made in terms of technological modernization, the constant investment, and the importance of caring for human resources as the central axis of management.

During his speech, the Minister of Security and Justice, Horacio di Nápoli, conveyed the greetings of Governor Sergio Ziliotto to the entire police family, highlighting the provincial government’s commitment to the ongoing training and strengthening of the institution. “Since 2019, we set out, together with the Governor, to deepen the training and study of our police personnel, because we are convinced that citizen security is built with increasingly prepared professionals”, he said.

The minister emphasized the importance of respect as an essential value in the daily work of the force. “Respect should not only come from the police towards the citizen, but also from the citizen towards the police. Many times we encounter situations where there is an attempt to provoke a negative reaction from the institution, and it is there that we must respond with more respect, because behind every uniform there are people with families, feelings, and a tremendous vocation for service”, he stated

Di Napoli also referred to recent statements by some provincial legislators who questioned the police action during a mobilization. In this regard, he was categorical: “To say that the Ministry of Security does not guarantee safety for legislators or for citizens is a disrespect to our Police. We have a highly trained force, recognized for its professionalism, and one cannot irresponsibly call into question a job that is planned with seriousness and commitment.”

Finally, di Napoli minister remarked the role of families in the daily support of the officers. HHuman resources are the central axis of this Police force, and behind every service stands their families, who silently endure each absence and each return. They are also a fundamental part of this recognition and the strength of our institution", concluded.

Meanwhile, Chief Cano emphasized that “behind the uniform there are men and women of flesh and blood, who day by day face often anonymous challenges, renouncing their comfort and exposing themselves to personal risks to ensure the society’s safety.”
Cano also highlighted the provincial government’s investment aimed at strengthening the work of the force. “With an investment of over 1.5 billion pesos, 38 new vehicles were acquired, including Renault Oroch and Alaskan trucks, all equipped to optimize operations in our province,” he stated, and emphasized “the acquisition of cutting-edge technology in research, equipment for Special Forces, drones with night vision and thermal capabilities, as well as improvements in buildings and infrastructure.” Cano also emphasized the need to take care of police personnel; “to protect society, we must first take care of those who protect it. That is why we strengthen emotional support, the prevention of workplace violence, and continuous training, understanding that our officers are the most valuable resource of the institution.”
