In an interview with the Provincial News Agency (APN), Erika Pattacini, Director of Innovation in Cultural Management, expressed that the balance “is extremely positive,” due to the fact that “since we received the projects in the first call, given the number of participants, there has been a collaborative effort, achieving our objectives with great expectations. We have seen that this Laboratory has largely fulfilled them, noting a great deal of synergy among all the participants, with top-level faculty, and very good dialogues and conversations.”
“The person in charge of MAFICI, the Puerto Madryn Film Festival, has invited several filmmakers from La Pampa to take their projects to the next Festival, which leaves us extremely satisfied.” she explained.
“This, in a way, broadens the scope, allowing all the filmmakers from our province to get to know each other, realizing that there is a community that needs to be strengthened, which is where we aim, to strengthen the growth of our cultural identity,” Pattacini emphasized.
Regarding the projects presented, she stated that “we had many very varied films, aesthetically and structurally, from various genres, and the conversation between directors and producers was very enriching. And what we seek is to be able to evolve this.”
Finally, she analyzed the short film format: “We decided to create this Short Film Lab, seeking to highlight this format because it’s often undermined, and it’s a very solid narrative structure that needs to be worked on very well. For many people, it’s the gateway to later making feature films. The idea will be to explore other formats later, but this one, precisely, given the attention spans we have now, the productions being sought on platforms, and so on, is an extremely interesting format. It’s not new, but it always comes back in a new form.”
