Yesterday marked the 25th anniversary of René Favaloro’s death. A moving tribute began on the façade of the new Santa Rosa Hospital of Increasing Complexity, which bears his name.
The activity included an artistic intervention using the mapping technique, a non-planar projection system that allows images to be adapted to the architectural shapes and volumes of the building, generating an immersive visual experience.
The projection, which was displayed from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., can also be seen today on the façade of the Hospital of Increasing Complexity, located on Raúl B. Díaz Street. It is an initiative of the Undersecretariat of Media of the Government of La Pampa, which reports to the Government General Secretariat, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health.
His indelible time in La Pampa #
The surgeon, who invented the surgical bypass technique, came to La Pampa at the invitation of his uncle, Arturo Cándido Favaloro, a resident of Jacinto Aráuz. He was 26 years old at the time and had just graduated.
Favaloro always emphasized the profound significance his experience in La Pampa had on his life: “It was a fundamental stage in my career, because as a rural doctor I learned the profound social meaning of life,” the doctor asserted, for whom his time in La Pampa left an indelible mark. Reciprocally, the Province always remembers him for his wisdom and love for his fellow man. Precisely based on these virtues, the La Pampa government didn’t hesitate to name this professional after the highly complex center, which is already a regional benchmark for the quality of its services.
