  Scientists from the &lt;strong&gt;Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology&lt;/strong&gt; (IVPP) of the &lt;strong&gt;Chinese Academy of Sciences&lt;/strong&gt; have uncovered new information suggesting a &lt;em&gt;potential connection between &lt;em&gt;Homo erectus&lt;/em&gt; and modern humans, while also developing new, less invasive paleoproteomics methods of fossil research.&lt;/em&gt;
